And when the machine finally died, it was too expensive to replace and eventually almost impossible to find even used. I've used the GO VIDEO machine and that was nice but you're limited to just moving the video to DVD with no way to edit. I've tried transferring them over time but never really seem to get caught up (did I mention I have a LOT of tapes?). I am LOVING this! I have VHS tapes that are over 30 years old. I have not utilized rolling credits or anything of that nature-if you're wanting professional editing capabilities, you're probably already using another software program! The DVD burning aspect was easy-there were several generic menu designs to choose from. I plan to convert my parents' VHS home movies from when we were kids. I used this as a walk-away application-set the recording up, did other work, came back and cropped the video easily with the software provided. You will need three RCA cables to connect most VCRs to this product's USB splitter, or an S-Video cable with 2 RCA cables depending upon your VCR's output capabilities. I have used Roxio products for over 10 years now off and on for audio and video editing/manipulating I don't recall ever having any issues.
One college graduation video was 50 minutes long-I did not experience the audio delay other reviews claimed. Recorded several old VHS home movies played on a Sony SLV-779HF VCR first to my hard drive, then burned the DVDs later using this software. Running Windows 7 Home Premium on Gateway i5 at 3.00 GHz with 16GB RAM
